How to Become a Licensed Family Day Care Provider
Community Care Licensing is the agency responsible for licensing and regulation of Family Child Care Homes and Child Care Centers. For an individual to become licensed to do family child care, you must:
- Attend an orientation meeting at Child & Family Resources (530) 257-9781
- Complete and submit required application forms
- Submit fingerprints/child abuse index cards for yourself and all adults in the home (18 and over)
- Have a TB clearance for all adults in the home (18 and over)
- Have proof of completion or enrollment in a 16-hour Health & Safety, CPR/First Aid, Injury/Illness prevention class (at Lassen Community College)
- Complete a pre-licensing visit in your home by a licensing analyst
